She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in counseling and\u00a0guidance and clinical and clinical psychology. After completing her PhD in health psychology at the University of Liverpool, she received her associate professorship in applied psychology in 2011. As of 2017, she has worked as a professor of applied psychology at several foundation trust universities. She is still working at a foundation trust university.<\/p>

She lived in the UK England between 1993-2008.<\/p>

Between 1993 and 2004, she worked in many institutions in the UK, including hospitals and universities. During this period, she provided therapy, counseling, psychoeducation and rehabilitation services to children, adolescents, adults, people with learning disabilities, people diagnosed with chronic physical illnesses such as cancer and diabetes. In addition, she has provided consultancy and supervision to other psychologists about the neuropsychological characteristics of acquired cognitive disability, and consultancy and training to other health professionals such as nurses and dietitians about the psychological processes of chronic physical illnesses. She has conducted both academic studies and interventions especially in the field of psycho-oncology.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Between 2004 and 2008, she worked in the Health Psychology Service and Day Center of the prisons in the UK, providing psychological assessment, counseling, therapy, rehabilitation and psychoeducation for prisoners, consultancy to psychiatric nurses on service development and management, and consultancy to psychiatric nurses and guardians on psychological health promotion and prevention of self-harm. Throughout her professional development she has worked in a number of health and educational organizations in both the UK and T\u00fcrkiye, and has held a number of administrative positions, including head of the psychology department and dean. She has provided training, supervision and consultancy to colleagues in the mental health field and to students receiving training in these fields.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

She provides counseling for couples, families, adolescents and adults in two different languages, Turkish and English, with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Schema Therapy. In the context of these practices, she focuses on both the psychosocial processes of chronic physical illnesses and psychological distress. She also continues her studies in the field of psychooncology. She has been a member of many national and international organizations such as those given below.<\/p>
